Loyalty Points

Longhorn Foundation Logo

The Loyalty Point System is used to reward Longhorn Foundation members and season ticket holders for their loyalty and commitment to Texas Athletics. Loyalty Points are used to determine various processes such as:

  • Priority ranking for season ticket seat and parking selection and upgrades for all sports
  • Seat selection appointment times for the Allstate Red River Rivalry
  • Seat allocation for football away and postseason games for all sports. Loyalty Points are awarded in various ways and take into account the longevity of being a season ticket holder as well as philanthropic donations. Please see below for specific ways in which Loyalty Points can be accrued.

Please note: Certain benefits activate with the purchase of season tickets in specific sports

Point Calculation

Foundation members and season ticket holders earn Loyalty Points based on past donation and purchase history dating back to 1986, the first year of the Longhorn Foundation. Points are awarded as follows:

+ 5 points per $100 donation for Longhorn Excellence (non-seat-related) gifts received after Sept. 1, 2014

+ 5 points per $100 donation for capital gifts received after Sept. 1, 2014

+ 5 points per $100 donation for endowment gifts received after Sept. 1, 2014

+ 2 points per $100 donation for annual seat-related gifts received after Sept. 1, 2014

+ 3 points per $100 donation for all gifts and donations received from 1986-2014

+ 1 point per season ticket account for all ticketed sports since 1987

+ 5 points per $100 donation for the Longhorn Foundation student membership

If your Longhorn Foundation becomes inactive because you have not maintained your membership by making a donation or purchasing season tickets, your Loyalty Points will no longer be displayed on your account. Once you re-activate your membership by making a donation and/or purchasing season tickets, your Loyalty Points will be displayed on your account. Currently, there are around 20,000 active Longhorn Foundation members.

Loyalty Points Associated with Planned Gifts

Revocable, documented planned gifts of $100,000 or more earn a one-time bonus of 250 loyalty points and those $25,000 to $99,999 earn a one-time bonus of 50 loyalty points. Irrevocable, documented planned gifts of $100,000 or more earn 5 loyalty points per $100.

Learn more about planned gifts here.

Point Calculation Dates

Your Loyalty Points total will determine your Loyalty Point rank among all Longhorn Foundation members. Your Loyalty Point rank determines the priority in which you are awarded an appointment time for seat and/or parking selection. The donor with the most amount of Loyalty Points will be ranked #1, and the donor with the least amount of points will be ranked last. This means that the donor ranked #1 will be allocated first, and so on. You can view your Loyalty Point rank here.

The below dates listed will determine your Loyalty Point rank for the allocation process of ticket locations, upgrades, and/or parking for each event. If you have elected a payment plan for your gift, you will receive full points for your full donation.

Loyalty Points FAQs

Where can I find my Loyalty Points total and ranking?

You can view your Loyalty Point total and ranking by logging into your Texas Athletics account. Once you are logged into your account, you can view details about your point calculation and rank. You can also use our Loyalty Point calculator to determine where your next gift will place you in the rankings.

Will Loyalty Points impact my current seat location?

Loyalty Points will not impact your current seat location, but they will provide you with your priority order which determines your ranking if you choose to add, move, or upgrade your seats.

Do new season ticket orders receive Loyalty Points?

Yes, Loyalty Points are awarded per season account for all ticketed sports. You will receive 1 Loyalty Point per year you have season tickets per sport. You can also receive Loyalty Points for your required seat-related gifts tied to your season tickets and for above and beyond Longhorn Excellence gifts.

How can I increase my Loyalty Point total to improve my Loyalty Point ranking?

All donations and season ticket purchases count towards your Loyalty Point total and ranking. The quickest way to increase your Loyalty Point total and ranking is by making a Longhorn Excellence gift which earns 5 Loyalty Points per every $100 donated. Longhorn Excellence gifts are 100% tax-deductible and support Texas student-athletes across their greatest areas of need.

Why does my “lifetime” giving only go back to 1986?

The Longhorn Foundation was founded and established in 1986. This is when athletics-specific giving started being recorded.

Do gifts to other areas of the university count towards my Loyalty Points?

No, only gifts to Texas Athletics earn Loyalty Points. However, we are grateful for all of your generosity to the University of Texas!

If I’m a Letterwinner, do I receive additional Loyalty Points?

Letterwinners who purchase season tickets receive a one-time bonus of 150 Loyalty Points. Additional Loyalty Points are earned following the standard guidelines for season tickets, seat-related gifts and Longhorn Excellence gifts.

How are the “best seats” determined for away game and postseason games when allocating by Loyalty Point rank?

The seating we receive for away games is determined by the University that is hosting the game. The seating we receive for postseason games is determined by the host or NCAA. The Texas Athletics Ticket Office, based on their knowledge and expertise, determines the “best seats” in the venue. They will allocate seating in Loyalty Point rank order starting with the “best seating”. If you have specific comments or needs for your seat selection, please contact the Ticket Office when placing your request for away game or postseason tickets.

Why does my Loyalty Point rank seem a lot higher, but it’s not equating to “good” seats?

Your Loyalty Point rank is determined by your total amount of points. The higher your rank, the better seats you are more likely to get in the allocation process. Please keep in mind that there are various factors that come into play here. For example, the seating locations that we allocate for away games and postseason games are determined by the host. When we played at Alabama during the 2023 season, our entire allocation was located in the upper deck, so the “good” seats were located in the first couple of rows of those sections. Another factor is that the ticket request demand is very high, so the more people ranked ahead of you who request tickets, the more tickets that will be allocated before yours.

How many active Longhorn Foundation members are there?

Currently, there are roughly 20,000 active Longhorn Foundation members. This number is comprised of both student members and non-student members. During the 2023 Football season, we had over 13,000 Football season ticket holders who were Longhorn Foundation members.
